Assisi Loop

Healing in clinic and at home

The Assisi Loop offers all animals a safe pain management electromagnetic technology that can be used as a stand-alone therapy or in conjunction with the treatment plan your veterinarian has in place. The Loop offers pet owners the opportunity to continue healing their pet at home and to take a proactive role in their pet’s recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How does the Assisi Loop work?
All living things are electrical systems.  The nervous system, along with every cell in the body, communicates with other cells and systems through the use of minute amounts of electrical current.  These electrical impulses form an electromagnetic field which keeps the body functioning.  When there is injury, cell damage or cell death, the electromagnetic field is disrupted.   The Assisi Loop delivers a clinically effective therapeutic electrical signal to damaged tissue that is positioned within the perimeter of a barrel-shaped treatment zone.  For a more detailed explanation of how it works, please watch this video.

Is it easy to use?

The beauty of this treatment is it’s ease of use.  Simply position the device so that the injured area is at the center of the Loop, turn it on and as long as the device is secured to the animal, or the animal is resting, there is nothing else to do.  The device will shut itself off in 15 minutes.  Simple!  Non-painful and safe!

Is it safe to use?
There are no contraindications with other modalities, and the Loop is actually a perfect take-home treatment for pet owners to continue healing between laser or acupuncture treatments.  It is great for NSAID intolerant patients (renal failure, liver disease) and for elderly or very young patients that may be sensitive to NSAIDs.  It is also great for competition dogs and horses that are not allowed to take pharmaceuticals while competing.  There are no magnetic induction effects from the Loop’s signal on veterinary surgical implants, which are made of non-magnetic materials, and the size of veterinary implants are not sufficient to significantly distract, weaken or otherwise adversely affect the therapeutic effect of the Loop’s signal.

What conditions can be treated with the Loop?

The Loop uses an electrical frequency that exerts its effects on soft tissue leading to reduction in pain and inflammation and stimulation of healing.  They are designed to be used on a daily basis and great for treating soft-tissue injuries, arthritis, neurological conditions, and to accelerate wound healing. The full effect takes weeks to months to become apparent, so other treatment modalities are often necessary to use with the Loop.

Assisi Animal Health offers two versions of the Loop. Which one should I purchase?

We will assist you in purchasing the appropriate size and the type of unit based on your pet’s needs.

How long do they last? What does a unit cost?

The Assisi Loop 2.0 Manual offers a minimum of 150 15-minute treatments.

The life of the Loop depends on the battery. You’re likely to get more than the minimum number of treatments noted above if you allow the Loop to recharge for 2 hours after every 15-minute treatment. At this time, there is no way to recharge or replace the battery. One Assisi Loop 2.0 can last anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months, depending on the condition being treated and the number of treatments required per day. The price of the loop is $378 regardless of size.

What part of the Loop is actually treating my pet?

The treatment field emits from the coil, or in other words, the ‘loop’ of the device. The treatment field fills the area of the Loop itself and extends on both sides, as illustrated. For a 10cm (4 inch) Loop, the treatment field extends 6-7cm (2.5-3 inches) from both sides. For a 20cm (7.5 inch) Loop, the treatment field extends from 13-14cm (4.5-5 inches) on both sides. In short, the treatment depth is about 2/3 the diameter of the coil, extending out on either side. The position of the battery pack has no effect on treatment. Simply center the Loop over the area of the condition for optimum positioning.
